Attracting Television and Film Production to Huntington

Is Focus of Joe Schramm’s Event

at Drake Media in Melville, Monday, August 23.

(Northport, NY) Joe Schramm, candidate for Huntington Town Council, will focus attention on just one of the ways he plans to help small and medium-sized businesses when he spotlights the potential for attracting TV and film productions to Huntington’s studio and editing facilities at a fundraiser in support of his campaign. The event will be held at Melville’s Drake Media Studios on Monday, August 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Schramm said, “The pandemic has hurt Huntington’s small and medium sized businesses, and they need help, now. I know this challenge first-hand. I am a local business owner who lost his business partner to COVID.” He continued, “In the next few years, Town leadership will need to be especially proactive in helping our businesses. After all, when our businesses do well, we all benefit from jobs and personal income for area residents, contributions to our community services and some relief from the tax burden on homeowners.”

Schramm noted, “Spotlighting tv production and hosting the event at a tv studio is a natural fit. At my company, Schramm Marketing Group, we work in sports and television, so I am aware of how local businesses and residents benefit when sports promoters, or TV and film producers choose to use local studio facilities like Drake Media Studios.” The Melville facility located at 270 South Service Road, Suite 55, is owned by Huntington resident, TV personality Donna Drake of “The Donna Drake Show”, which was formerly known as “Live It Up”.

Attendees of the two-hour event will enjoy wines and refreshments, a brief program featuring comments from television production executives, a sample video for their personal use, and experience a tour of the studio facilities.

COVID SAFE precautions will be activated. Unvaccinated attendees will be required to wear an appropriate face mask.

Members of the press will be welcomed especially those editors or reporters in the areas of business, entertainment, and local politics.

Press are invited to contact to receive a press pass for this event.
